Corrugated partitions are made from a unique corrugated board material with features that differ from options like chipboard and Solid Bleach Sulfite. Their strength and durability make them a reliable choice for interior box packaging of large, bulky, or heavy products. Corrugated box partitions offer exceptional stacking strength, allowing significant downward force to be applied without compromising structure. This strength makes them well-suited for transport, pallet stacking, and high-volume logistics environments involving significantly heavier products.
Corrugated cardboard dividers can be produced at larger sizes than chipboard or SBS partitions, giving customers greater flexibility when packaging oversized units or irregular shapes. While chipboard and SBS thickness is measured in calibers, partition thickness is defined by flute profiles. Flute selection and finish are determined by customer products, packaging needs, and handling requirements. Corrugated partitions are typically a higher-cost packaging option than chipboard due to material density and strength. Like other partition styles, corrugated can be used for double wall corrugated dividers, corrugated pads, and specialty die cuts. Our corrugated cardboard is made from recycled fiber and kraft paper and is fully recyclable, making it an environmentally friendly packaging option.
The thickness of corrugated board is measured by flutes, with common options including B flute, C flute, and double wall construction. B flute provides a thinner profile, while double wall corrugated dividers combine multiple flute layers for added cushioning and rigidity. Flutes are also available in various test strengths, ranging from lighter stock such as 125# test to heavier grades up to 275# test. All standard flutes and finishes are kept in stock to support ongoing manufacturing programs.
Corrugated partitions can include optional features designed to support efficient packing and product stability. Directional notches help operators properly orient partitions during assembly or on automated equipment. Corner cuts and corrugated cardboard dividers improve handling and placement inside a corrugated box or cardboard box. These features support faster packing while keeping products aligned within cells during transport.
For large or awkward products that require added cushioning and separation, double wall corrugated dividers are well-suited. Partitions can be produced up to 56 inches in length and up to 25 inches in height. Cell sizes can be as small as 3/4 inch by 3/4 inch. Air cells may be added around the perimeter to improve impact protection. Corrugated box partitions are designed to fit standard cartons or custom box configurations. Engineers are available to develop new packs, revise existing designs, and support packaging optimization.
All of General Partition’s corrugated partitions ship fully assembled. Finished partitions are bundled and secured to a pallet for safe handling and warehouse storage. Each pallet is clearly marked with customer information to support inventory management and logistics tracking.
General Partition is an in-house manufacturer, allowing us to support customers from initial concept through full production. Our manufacturing process includes Slotting, custom cell layouts, and precision fabrication using corrugated sheets and corrugated pads. This allows us to support a wide range of industries, from industrial equipment and retail goods to bulk pack and distribution programs.
Corrugated box partitions are frequently selected for applications where durability during transport matters most. Compared to plastic inserts, bags, or envelopes, double wall corrugated dividers provide reliable separation while integrating easily into existing boxes and palletized systems. Their strength helps reduce product movement during shipping and supports consistent pack performance across long logistics cycles.
Every General Partition project begins with collaboration. We work directly with each customer to evaluate product dimensions, handling requirements, and packing workflows. From custom corrugated cardboard dividers to large-format partitions for heavy units, our team designs solutions that support efficient packing, stable cells, and repeatable performance. Our stock availability and manufacturing flexibility allow us to support both short runs and long-term programs without disruption. We will always find the best material for your project. 90% of items that need protecting can be safely partitioned using a chipboard option. When corrugated is necessary we will tell you. Cost effectiveness without sacrificing integrity is our number one goal.
