OUR HISTORY

Faith, Family and hard work has enabled General Partition to prosper and grow over this last half century.

James W. Houseman worked for a paper broker in the City of Philadelphia. In May of 1965 he decided to take a chance and go after the American dream. He rented a building in the Northeast section of Philadelphia. With all he had he purchased three used converting machines, raw material and began the operation. James had accounts that followed him and that was the beginning.

In 1970 the company outgrew the rented property in Philadelphia. James built a building in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, which is a suburb of Philadelphia. General Partition grew as we added sales staff and our work force grew from 10 to 35.

In 1981 General Partition needed more space, so an addition was built. Presently General Partition’s manufacturing facility is 35,000 square feet. General Partition recently purchased the latest style partition slotter which will expand our capabilities.

The future of General Partition will continue with James both sons, James Jr. and Richard. Both are involved in the business. James Jr. works in the Manufacturing area and Richard is the President and Sales Manager. Ricks son Richard Junior is the Plant Supervisor. Ricks Son in-Law Tim Rahill is part of the outside sales staff.

We believe that faith and hard work are key elements for achievement and that honesty builds strong lasting relationships. With that as our foundation, General Partition makes every effort everyday to offer our customers what they deserve: quality products, competitive prices and dependable service.
